BHP Medical Clinic Haiti Marks 5-Year Milestone

Updated: Sep 15

Celebrating 5 Years of Healing

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since we opened the doors of the BHP Medical Clinic Haiti in the small village of Balan in north Haiti. What started as a small project to help bring healthcare to this underserved region has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined. Today, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us to this milestone.

A Community Effort

When we founded Brown Horse Projects, we were driven by a simple mission: to share the love of Christ with our neighbors through projects that focused on water, art, music, and medicine. With the support of many volunteers and generous donors we’ve been able to do just that. Over the past five years, we’ve provided care to a patient panel of over 11,000 people, many of whom had no access to medical services before.

The clinic serves as a lifeline to people in desperate. From routine check-ups and lab testing to maternal care and ongoing health education, our dedicated team is there every day to provide hope and healing.

Faith, Hope, and Resilience

We’ve faced many challenges along the way. Haiti is a beautiful but tough place, where daily life can be a struggle. Resources are scarce, food insecurity is widespread, and violence often lurks just beneath the surface. But through it all, we’ve held on to faith and hope.

As co-founder Andra LaMarca says, "In an area where food and resources are scarce, daily life is difficult, and violence is always right under the surface, our work is driven by faith and hope. We believe that through compassion and care, we can help create a better future for the people of Balan. It’s not just about providing medical services; it’s about being a source of light in dark times and showing that even in the most challenging circumstances, there is always hope."

A Much-Deserved Thank You

We couldn’t have done any of this without the amazing support from so many family, friends, and neighbors. Our local donors, churches, and volunteers have played a huge role in making the clinic a success. You’ve helped us keep the lights on, buy medical supplies, and expand our services. From all of us at Brown Horse Projects, thank you for believing in this mission and for showing the people of Haiti that they are not forgotten.

What’s Next?

While we’re celebrating this five-year milestone, we know there’s still so much more to be done. That’s why we’re launching a special fundraising campaign to raise $50,000 to continue the clinic’s services.

If you’re interested in helping us reach this goal, you can donate directly through our website: www.brownhorseprojects.com.

Join Us in the Journey

We’re excited to see what the next five years will bring, and we invite you to join us in this journey. Whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word, there are so many ways to get involved. Together, we can continue to love our neighbors well.

Here’s to the next five years and beyond! Thanks again, friends for being such an important part of this story. We couldn’t do it without you.
