ABOUT BROWN HORSE PROJECTS
For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men. 2 Corinthians 8:21
OUR
MISSION.
Brown Horse Projects exists to cultivate healing, dignity, and beauty among people in need by sharing the gospel of Jesus and providing hands-on medical care.
Brown Horse Projects works to achieve our mission by running a family medicine clinic in a remote village of Haiti. This clinic serves an isolated population, offering high-quality care affordably to those who otherwise would go without. We extend the loving hands of God without question or payment at the clinic, while staff pray with patients and offer the hope found only in Christ to all those who come through our doors. Our U.S. team coordinates several short-term mission trips annually to Haiti and the Dominican Republic that focus on medical care, health education, arts enrichment and relationship-building.
God has called our team to work alongside, encourage, uplift and love on our brothers and sisters on the island of Hispaniola in both Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Brown Horse Projects has been traveling there with various teams and many willing participants for more than a decade. Over this time, our eyes have been opened to poverty unlike anything we've seen in other travels and mission trips, to spiritual confusion and un-Godly practices, to disease, dirt, destruction and devastation. But when God reveals things in the world that require our attention, He also provides a way. His way for our team in Haiti and the DR was led by an opening of our hearts, so that what we see in the country is so much more beautiful than what meets the eye. In Haitian people we see warriors, princesses, princes, humble servants and kind-hearted men and women, farmers, teachers, engineers, students, we see people who've been mistreated, discarded, underestimated and are working to survive and make their tiny piece of this big world a better place for their children and their children's children. We see our friends. We see their families and we return to share love. ❤️
Friends, the need is great.

MARK 1:17
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
We believe in:
• the full deity and full humanity of Christ (John 1:1–14; Hebrews 1:3–5, 2:5–18),
• His virgin birth (Luke 1:26–38),
• His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15),
• His miracles (John 10:31–38),
• His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (Matthew 26:28; 1 Peter 2:24),
• His bodily resurrection (John 20:1–31; Acts 1:1–3; 1 Corinthians 15:1–8),
• His ascension to the right Hand of the Father (Acts 1:4–11),
• His present rule as Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22, 5:23; Colossians 1:18),
• and His personal return in power and glory (Revelation 19:11–16; 22:7–21).
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (2 Corinthians 3:17–18). We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of all who are separated from God by sin and rebellion (John 14:15–21; Romans 8:1–11; 1 Corinthians 12:3). We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are lost unto damnation (Matthew 25:41–46), and they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life (Matthew 25:31–40; 1 Corinthians 15:42–57). We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across races, genders, and classes (Colossians 3:11).
WE
BELIEVE.
WHO IS
BROWN HORSE?
Katie and Andra, the co-founders of Brown Horse, share the story behind the nonprofit’s name. Inspired by sisterhood, creativity, and faith, they found joy and purpose in bringing art, the Word of God, and medical care to communities in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Watch their story here.
YOU'RE A BROWN HORSE TOO.
The band Rolling Boxcar International's song about "being a brown horse" called "Please Tell Mary" is available to stream! If you've not given them a listen on Spotify, Apple Music, or your favorite streaming service, please do. Our brothers are talented musicians who humbly describe their aim, "hopefully the songs are interesting, sincere and true."
